Rush Pi Kappa Alpha

Join one of the world’s largest and most prestigious fraternities
  Rush Chair: Dorian Adeyemi (914) 539- 1597  dadeyemi@andrew.cmu.edu

Brotherhood: (noun) an association of  men united for common purposes in order to have the best outcome not only amongst themselves but also for the greater good; who treat all with respect; who value integrity and honesty

So you decided that you might want to give rush a shot. Maybe you want to go Greek or maybe you’re not to sure. Eitherway, forget everything you “know” or think you know about being in a fraternity. Being a Pike is not about having a few buddies to party with on the weekends. It’s not about having a couple of Greek Letters brandished on your chest. Letters aren’t what makes Pi Kappa Alpha the house that we are, but the individuals who make up our house. We don’t need to rely on our Brotherhood: We Make it! We’re not looking for the person who “needs” a fraternity. To pledge Pi Kappa Alpha is to enlist in a higher standard of achievement, success, and friendship. We are a collection scholars, leaders, athletes, and most importantly, gentlemen.

What is Pike all about?

Being a Pike will push you to your limits: After all a complete man is not average or mediocre; He is one who excels in every facet of life. He is a scholar who understands the necessity of a good education to achieve success. He is a leader committed to helping others, setting good examples, and working to better themselves and others. He is an athlete who understands that physical activity helps develop a man’s potential. Lastly, he is a gentleman who is selfless, has care and concern for others and conducts himself in a proper manner.

Why Pi Kappa Alpha?

Scholars
Pikes proudly boast their ability to have a good time and also make education a priority. The past two semesters had Pike ranked in the top three of fraternities for GPA’s and our house GPA is higher than the all male Campus GPA average. 2008 also marks the first year that Pi Kappa Alpha seeks to recognize other men who share our virtues regarding education with a $1000 scholarship (Click here to view the scholarship

Leaders
Pikes are represented in almost every single facet of campus society. Our members hold leadership positions such as last year’s Student Body President, Overall Greek Sing Chair, Sweepstakes(Buggy) Chairman,  Interfraternal Council President, membership in the Undergraduate Student Senate, etc.

Athletes
Pikes also pride themselves on being competitive not only academically, but athletically. This is reflected in our historical 7 consecutive 1st place finish in Carnegie Mellon’s annual Buggy race (click here to view more about buggy) and winning the IM trophy twice in the last 3 years.

Gentleman
Lastly, the members of Pi Kappa Alpha pride themselves in being gentlemen.

Pikes Are Everywhere

Pikes are more than just a single, isolated chapter. The Beta Sigma Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha at Carnegie Mellon is one of more than 200 chapters across the United States and Canada. Pi Kappa Alpha is one of the largest and strongest fraternities with over 210,000 members worldwide. Imagine having a brother at almost any college or university that you visit. Wherever you go, whatever you do, Pikes will be there to help you. It's a network of brothers that you can always count on.
